New construction of a residential building with 22 freehold flats and an underground car park with 18 parking spaces.
On the site of the former Telefunken-Werke, later the headquarters of the Berlin Brigade (=McNair Barracks), a four-storey, modern new building was constructed to complement the listed building ensemble, which was largely converted for residential purposes.
In close consultation with the city planning office and the heritage protection authority, a building was designed that fits into the existing ensemble in terms of scale and design, taking into account all general conditions.
The 22 condominiums in total, two of which are maisonettes, are grouped around a central, open staircase and are accessed on each floor via a central corridor inside the building. They face either the 4th of July Square or the extensive inner courtyard of the neighbourhood.
All flats have generous outdoor spaces in the form of roof terraces, balconies and terraces connected to the private garden.
The façades are primarily characterised by floor-to-ceiling exterior windows with laterally adjoining, colour-accentuated façade recesses, some of which are angled.
