Who we are and what makes us tick

Building is becoming increasingly complex. How can an office with twelve heads handle such projects?

We are a well-coordinated team. We see ourselves as a team that seeks the best possible solution through the constant exchange of ideas and experiences. We cultivate friendly and respectful cooperation that promotes the creativity of the individual.

We are convinced generalists. The people we employ may not know everything, but have seen a lot and therefore understand the big picture. Our decisions are always well-considered and therefore endure.

We are a Berlin office . We have been familiar with the special features of this city for decades. We maintain good contacts with the authorities and central institutions to advise our clients on what is possible here - and what is not.

We set ourselves new tasks every day whilst looking back on a long history.

Our office emerged from Braun & Schlockermann und Partner GbR, one of the large architectural offices in Germany

In the 1960s, Helmut Braun and Martin Schlockermann founded their architectural practice in Frankfurt/Main.

In 1977, the office was entrusted with the reconstruction of the Alte Oper in Frankfurt.

In the following years, the company specialised in the planning and construction of representative cultural and conference buildings, often combined with each other and linked to hotel projects (Städtische Bühnen in Frankfurt, Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Halle in Halle, Congress Park Hanau, Stadthalle Dieburg, Hotel Adina Frankfurt and Hotel Innside Frankfurt-Niederrad, Sofitel Frankfurt Opera).

With the establishment of a Berlin office after reunification, the portfolio grew to include prestigious capital city buildings such as corporate representative offices and, above all, embassy buildings.

A total of six Embassies were created in the noughties under the leadership of Ulrich Borgert, who is now the Berlin office manager of Braun & Schlockermann.

In 2013, the two branches in Berlin and Frankfurt became independent architectural offices.

Our office, Ulrich Borgert Braun & Schlockermann Architekten GmbH BDA Berlin (UBBS Architekten) in Berlin as well as Tilman Lange Braun & Schlockermann Architekten GmbH BDA Frankfurt/Main (TLBS Architekten) in Frankfurt.

Today we continue the tradition of Braun & Schlockermann and feel deeply committed to the name and the quality associated with it.
