New construction of a residential complex / conversion of the historic coach house with 56 freehold flats and underground car park with 26 parking spaces in Berlin-Weißensee.
The entire ensemble is made up of three different types of buildings:
The historic coach house, the so-called town house on Charlottenburger Straße and the four garden houses with a residential courtyard, which can be further differentiated into a long house and a double cube.
A design matrix was developed from the existing structures in the immediate vicinity, which generates a careful and respectful, but also independent and identity-creating overall ensemble. On the one hand, on the street side, it is a dense, urban residential complex; on the other hand, the cubature of the garden houses conveys a small-scale and private structure, which is complemented by the residential courtyard as a communication area.
