New/conversion of the Congress Park as a theatre, conference and cultural centre in Hanau
The existing building of the former historic Marstall, which houses today's theatre and cultural centre, was carefully renovated and converted and forms the starting point of today's Congress Park Hanau. The conference centre was designed as a supplementary new building and added to the side of the Marstall building with the aim of creating a functional building unit.
The conference centre is designed for approx. 850 visitors, the theatre and cultural area for approx. 800 visitors.

For the visitor, the tension between old and new building fabric is particularly evident through the connectivity and the flowing transitions within the individual functional units.
The result is a sequence of historical rooms and contemporary steel and glass architecture that makes it possible to experience the history of the site with all its fractures very clearly.
